Default I Created a Monster Today!

I Create A Monster Today at 1215 today my grandson walked in to the house and I said do you want to go salmon fishing. Big mistake, as he said yes and we quickly through the things in the boat and off to Duz we go. On the way out the Sea Dragon was coming in and he pass me some numbers 52/45-46 at 90 feet on the wire. We round the Bonita point and was picking up some fairly good wind chop so by the time we get to Duz its about 3 pm. So I pulled up there and try it for a few minutes-Nada. Wanting to get my grandson his first salmon I chug on out to the numbers 52/45 and put a clear FBR down with a 6 inch herring and didn't go 20 feet and bam, Trevor first salmon, now mind you Trevor is a bass fishing fool and I could start to see the gleam in his eye, salmon fishing isn't that bad. So I baited his rod up again and headed a line towards the Duz bouy going with the wind chop and at 52/42 at 30 feet on the wire he gets his 2 nd salmon. We see whales got to have a wild ride around Bonita Point coming back and even a 4 or 5 unusual roller waves that tried to sneak up on us out pass Duz, but we saw them and ran with them. Very unusual. We get home and clean up the boat and he announces, you know salmon fishing is fun, so the next time you go give me a call. The big score Grandpa 0 Trevor limits. Ok so he is a better fisherman than me, but I have skills to, I'm good at loading the boat. LOL

Sea Dragon thanks for the numbers, you were on the money.
Duz Buoy is a buoy off of Duzberry reef which in 6 miles north of the Golden Gate bridge just south of Point Reyes.

Wow I do love those FBR. This is the 2 day of salmon fishing on one tray of bait and I still threw away 3 herring. The bait saving along pays for them.

I use FBR's exclusively down here in California and up in Southern Oregon. Its basically a bait rotator that keeps your bait rotating, and in a straight line. They whip the tail off of any other bait rotator I have ever seen. Since I switched over to them, I consistently outfish my friends pulling junk. Get some of the large headed ones for use with small sardines and large herring. Amazingly effective.

Not familiar with the term FBR either down here in Eureka CA. Could you please describe. Are they similiar to the RSK (Rotary Salmon Killers) Plastic nose clips with a slanted bar to make them rotate. And where did you get yours since I haven't noticed them in the sporting goods stores.

Englund marine has them in Eureka CA, Crecent City, CA, Newport,OR and Charleston, OR. They are also available through the web site.

baddotter, I'm happy that you are having success with them and I appreciate the kudos.
