Default Very Large Alsea Salmon

If you get a chance to look this one up check out the monster King that Karen Burnett caught out of the Alsea River Labor Day weekend. Couldn't get a working scale on it as it broke 2 50# scales. She is 5'4" and this fish is nearly her size. Caught on an incoming tide near the bank on an orange and silver Blue Fox spinner on 20# line. Way to go Karen. This is why you take your wife fishing with you!!! Check it out on http://news.statesmanjournal.com/sin...e.cfm?i=13856. Sorry, I wasn't sure just how to paste the jpeg picture.

WW,
I have had the best fish on when I was out with my "significant" other. There is a pattern.

One word to describe the fish: AWESOME

Wow, that's the one that should hang on the wall! And you didn't fly to Alaska either. Nice fishy.

Congrats Karen! WTG. - The excellant ocean feed the last couple years has produced a larger salmon size average this year. We have Karen's 'nook somewhere over 50 lbs. and an 80 lb. 'nook caught on the Columbia (the largest there in decades). Soooooo, with the T-Bay 'Nooks being the largest strain south of the Canadian border, who is going to come up with a record fish there this fall? How big will it be? On record is an 83 lb. fish taken many years ago from the Nestucca. A 72 lb. fish was caught on T-Bay a few years ago. I have personally wittnessed a 67 pounder caught out of the Trask R. And fish over 60 on the Wilson R. What other big ones have you fishers seen. I think someone may catch an 80+ 'nook near Tillamook this year or next. We should definitely see some over 60 this year! What do ya think about a biggest certified weighed fish contest for Ifishers this year and next? How would we go about this and what would be the prize? Suggestions. - RT
