Default Help on fishing the trask? RT, anybody?

Me and a buddy are heading over to the Trask to try our luck.

Ive never fished there and we will not have a boat for this trip.

Any advice on what to use and where to access some good spots?

Just before you get to the hatchery, you can drop down to the river. I went to the hatchery one time and hiked downriver. Caught a nice King on a fly that day.
I guess you could go to the top of Loren's drift, the boat ramp, and do some fishing around there. Some road side tidewater is available, but hard to find. Otherwise the North side of the river is pretty accessible once you get above the hatchery, any fish there? Who knows!

Good luck!+

Until we get more rain to move fresh fish up river into some needed current I think you might want to consider the Hospital Hole (turn in to the right just aftetr the hospital on 3rd street and go thru the pay gate and dwon a few hundred yards to whre other fishers are gathered. It's a great tidewater hole. Another good one is the 101 gravel bar/boat take out hole just a couple hundred yard above Hwy. 101. Try both the eggs/shrimp/float and spinners methods. - RT
