Clackamas silvers??
It's been pretty quiet on the Clackamas reports. Anyone give it a go lately? maybe floating it with plugs or spinners??

Re: Clackamas silvers??
Howdy. I'll be up there as soon as the river goes up to 1.8 - 2.0, just to get my boat down the river! We need some rain! If you do bank it or drift it, there is a very small bite very early in the morning and from what I've heard doesn't last long. Try Blue Fox's and drifting eggs. Good luck - Gary

Re: Clackamas silvers??
Thanks Big Willie,
Are you saying you can't get a drift boat down at the current water level, say from Barton to Carver?

Re: Clackamas silvers??
Drift boats have been drifting from feldheimers to barton all summer long, I think you have to get out and walk the boat in a couple of places. The thing is, the bite is only going for the first hour or 2 of daylight and after that it shuts down. On overcast days the bite is extended a bit, but if you're fishing in mid day, you're pretty much just wasting your time. The evening bite for me hasn't been as good as the morning bite either. But you can still pick up a few fish in the evening.

Re: Clackamas silvers??
THanks for those details Ramstrong.
If we go it will be Sun. morning, and I think they're predicting clouds or showers so that may help. Living in Columbia Co. it's a long ways to go for an hour or two's fishing, so I hope the morning bite goes a little longer for us.

Re: Clackamas silvers??
I have been floating from Feldheimer's to Barton for the past four weeks or so, and unless you f*ck up, there is no need to walk the boat. However, there are two islands that you want to make sure to go on the correct side of. Also, be prepare to bang the bottom of your boat a bit. There are some shallow spots, but you should be able to slide over them. If you want more detailed info on this drift, feel free to e-mail me.
See you on the river this weekend.
