Default Where to Take a Visitor to Catch a Salmon?

I have a visitor here from Mississippi who would like to catch a salmon Saturday. Any suggestions? Reports are that the Columbia is slow, I had been out to Tillamook Bay, but things were extremely slow there, the Sandy still looks like milk chocolate (may be ok by Sat?) and the last few days on the Clackamas where I had caught a few fish previously there seemed to be nothing going on. I really would like to get this guy into some fish, so any help would be appreciated. Anybody have a crystal ball saying if one of these spots is looking up for the weekend? Other suggestions?

Thanks.

I would suggest fishing the Clack or Eagle Creek. However, as the rivers receed back to low water conditions, fishing will be tough. Be sure to abide by the suggestion repeated throughout the board lately by getting there early and fishing hard the first hour of daylight. Today I talked to somebody who lives near the Sandy, and the word is dismal. Still in bad shape.

One word of advice I can give you when fishing in low water conditions is make sure to hit the fast stuff. Some of the fish will break away from the schools in the deep holes and seek refuge in pockets within the white water.

Good Luck,

We'd like to catch a salmon Saturday too, so if you find a sure bet, share it with us!!!!

We have heard some good reports on the lower Nehalem and the N. Bay.

As for T bay, fished it this morning with little to no luck. (Try no luck) Well, one headshaker.

So, Safeway is a sure bet.

You beat me Jen, I was going to suggest Safeway as the only sure bet as well. Good luck to everyone this Saturday.
