Ohhhh yeah. I love the look, and sound of beer in the primary. Have fun!!!

I taught my 21 yr old son how to brew few weeks ago. He called me the next day all excited........"It's bubbling, it's bubbling!!! This is like a science project that you can drink!!"

What styles are you brewing?

I hope thats your secondary fermentation stage. You could have a real mess if its once it starts going. Anyhow, you got to love a good home brew. What did you make. Some sort of stout or porter and maybe a Heffe?

Strange, I didn't realize I was thirsty 'til just now . The best thing I ever did was to start using a keg. A Cornelius keg is surprisingly easy to set up and eliminates the bottle collecting, sterilization, filling and storage, plus it's ready to drink the day you keg it, there's no 10 day wait for the carbonization.

Man, that brings back memories of when my dad started making his own wine. Started with a nice batch of blackberries. When they started to ferment and degas, the percolator on top plugged with seeds. We had the prettiest purple kitchen on the block after that went off.

When I was a little kid (1945-1950) we harvested Oregon Grape berries each summer around the neighborhood, added a little sugar and set the mix aside in quart mason jars in the neighborhood coal bins. Come fall we drank the stuff. Parents never could figure out what happened. It was an annual event.

Yum! Just don't succomb to temptation and drink it too early. Aging is good... to a point. Beautiful color. When it clears, I'm sure it'll look great. What recipe did you use?

I prime the keg just like I would a bottle for carbonization. Wait 10 days and hook up the CO2 tank. Just enough pressure to push the beer out and you get the natural carbonation. I don't care for the CO2 from the tank. Some people say it's the same. A few batches and a few corn. kegs and the 10 days isn't a problem. Relax, don't worry have a homebrew. everyone!

Those look real tasty!!!
