Default Portable Radar Tower for Soft top Seahawk Idea's?

Looking for some type of portable on/off tower I can put on my soft top Seahawk. I want to be able to mount a Radar unit when heading to the salt and remove when upriver and pulling the kids around etc.... Any idea's would be greatly appreciated...

At the tuna conference I saw someone's boat - Chameleon. Looked like a 22' seahawk. They had a regular arch but could move it forward to make space and tow kids better. That would be a good setup. Really nice boat by the way.

On my 20' seahawk there isn't space for moving forward. My arch is pretty much already forward.

Plunker,

BiteFactory is referring to this boat. I had Samson Sports modify one of their wakeboard towers and turn it into a functional piece of fishing equipment. About 4' forward of the front tower leg, there is another mounting stub under the side window. (See second picture). We simply unbolt the legs, pick the whole thing up and move it forward 4'. The rear legs would then take the place of the front legs. We do this when we take the top off and go to a lake for the day. Tower and radar are out of the way and no need to take the whole thing off. The black stripes are velcro strips holding my wire harnes down the fron leg. When I move the tower forward, the harnes then runs down the back leg and is revelcroed.

In this picture, you will notice that at the base of the anchor light, there is a swivle to attach a rope for wake board or skis.

Mind if I ask about what that cost? I need to add either a tower or pylon to my new boat to tow the kids around, but I like the idea of it having fishing value too.

I have a 21' seahawk with a soft top and I have a Barewest tower that has two sets of brackets on my boat to accoplish just what you are talking about. Mine is very similar to the picture on this post. In the spring and fall the tower is in the back position and in the summer it is in the front position by the windshield. I love this tower and I can move it by myself with very little problems. The barewest was a few hundred dollars cheaper and I liked the way the lines matched my boat better than the sampson tower. Don't get me wrong , the sampson tower is a beautiful, well made product, but I personally just liked the Barewest one better.

Mike,
How about having Motion Marine fabricate one for you?

So HarpMan,
what did you go with? I'm also looking for a tower for my 22 seahawk.
