Default Frenchman's Bar - epilogue

Today, we gave the Frenchman's Bar area what will likely be the final try for this season.

Fished the outgoing afternoon tide without a bite for three rods. That seemed to be the case for the other three or four boats around too.

It's was fun while it lasted.

garyK, We got skunked my last fishing day on the Columbia as well BUT keep an eye on the numbers over the dam, yesterday for coho and chinook they were both over 1400(counting jacks)WA and OR shore. there will be no nets in until Thursday and even then they can't go higher than Longview.

Mrdorkfish,

We were hopeful, given what Wed-THur-Fri's Bonneville counts were (and some fish won't be going over Bonneville; Willamette river system, Tanner Cr., WA. side rivers) so there are more fish available above and beyond the Bonneville count. But unless there's a surge in numbers, I think we're through down here, unless we try further upriver like out of Chinook Landing. Thanks!

Garyk

I'm glad to hear you guys had a good season. But I think if we wanna intercept any of these chinook we need to be above Bonneville. I fished the mouth of the big white salmon last Thursday. We got one chinook that was anywhere between 30 and 35lbs. It was pretty dark so we let it go. Must have been a big tuley. I was only able to fish for about 2 hours because the wind picked up something fierce so we had to leave. But that's basically all I know. I havent heard any other reports so I was hoping that maybe one of you seasoned Columbia River fisherman.
Fish on,
Mike
