I'll just skip the sales tax and the drive, and continue to order on-line

I would be willing to make the drive to check them out. No sales tax for Oregon residents. Just show them your drivers license.

Thanks for the update! I will most certainly make the pilgrimage. Rods, reels, guns and ammo of every type as far as the eye can see.... oh you bet I'll be there!
Magazines are fine, but no substitute for fondling the real thing.

Brshooter,

I think that Oregonions will have to pay tax up there.

I think the no tax thing is for bordering counties only.

I'm not sure about that...Oregonians don't have to pay sales tax at the factory outlet stores in Centralia, and that's over 80 miles north of the border.

Oregonians don't have to pay tax anywhere in Washington. There is a special arrangement between the 2 states.

All you need to do is show your Oregon Driver License or ID and they will take the tax off.

Same thing goes for Alaska Residents in the state of Washington.

I'll really enjoy having a Cabela's close. You guys near Portland have it made, though. I like going down there to Sportsman's Wharehouse.......they have lots of great hunting and fishing supplies. And so does Bob's in Longview.

I had to buy four tires in Spokane twenty years back. They made me buy a tax exempt card (5.00) to save fifty bucks. Why couldn't I just show them my drivers licence? They still got some more of my money, just not as much.
