Friday at the Siletz

Fished the Siletz this morning, dawn till about 2pm. Saw 3 fish caught and 1 in a boat. There were alot of Jacks and/or Silvers jumping and the fish finder was going nuts early in the day. Most everyone was anchored up with quick-fish and that is what the 3 I saw were caught on. I tried to bounce some eggs but there were so many smolt in the river that they stripped the hook clean in about two minutes. After 1/2 a pound of eggs I quit my involentary chumming. Water is still pretty warm at 60 deg.

Anyone been over on the Salmon??

P.S. 8 BUCKS to launch at Coyote Rock! Ouch!!!

8 Bucks for a river launch ?????? Do they include a bait girl with that ?

I was there this afternoon, unfortunatly I wasnt there to fish. Just checking it out after deer hunting. There were 2 fish on the board at 2pm and 2 on the dock. Of of those dock fish was 47 pounds!!!!!!!!!!

Big fish!!!!! The guy was using a silver/blue Jiggin spoon. What a hog! Frisk, where did you park your rig? across the road? Chinook Bend charges $6 but I dont know the condition of the ramp.

The Chinook Bend ramp is in better shape than Coyote Rocks and he has tons of parking. The fee is cheaper because this is his first full year open to the public and he wants to make an impression.

Thanks for the tip on Chinook Bend I didn't know that it was open to the public. At Coyote Rock the only place to park is across the street in the dirt area.
