Default Lowrance Update Available

FYI... Lowrance released a new software update for several of their units last week. I updated my LCX26cHD and there were some cool new features that will also apply to the LCX25c, LCX110c, and LCX111cHD. You can get the update from their website (PM me for the link if needed).

What changes are made in this update?

Added Lowrance Radar support (I have mine on order)
Added waypoint-sharing across NMEA 2000 networks
Enhanced Navionics Gold charts support
Minor User Interface modifications

Includes all features from previous updates, including:
Added NMEA 2000 integration - New features included with NMEA 2000 integration include: 1) Fuel Management: including Fuel Economy, Fuel Remaining, Fuel Range, and Fuel Used, 2) NMEA 2000 Alarms: including Low Fuel, Low Oil, Low Live Well and more, and 3) Up to 127 onboard sensors: including GPS, temperature, trim tabs, fuel flow, fluid level, water speed, and pressure

Added Automatic GPS Selection - With this new feature, the user can have multiple GPS modules on their vessel and the head unit will automatically select the GPS module with the best position error, giving the user the best lock at all times and providing means as a fail safe for long voyages

Added Hard Drive Interface - 1) Log sonar data to the hard drive without having to use SD/MMC cards, 2) Log sonar charts at full ping speed, and 3) Store up to 10GB of sonar log data (about 50 hours worth of sonar logging) or any other marine data

Added feature to drop waypoints on sonar logs - With this feature, users can create waypoints from the Sonar Log screen to quickly mark locations of interest and then easily navigate back to that exact spot

Added Gauge Pages - These "blank canvases" allow for endless customization of overlay data and analog gauges

Added high power transducer array as option under transducer type dialog

Improved access times to SD and MMC cards

Increased Navionics support

Increased number of backlight steps from 10 to 16

Modified the PWR key to now cycle through 4 backlight levels instead of three

Added option to disable the FasTrac (amplitude scope) bar from the sonar features window

Improved bottom tracking ability in very shallow water (less than 9')

Thanks Snowdog! Just downloaded the update. I'd be interested to know how you like the radar. I've got a 26CHD and am considering the radar upgrade as well. The price is sure right...

Beware, more than a few users on thehulltruth (electronics forum) warning of buggy upgrade to version 1.4 from 1.2

Going to check what ver the 111 on the aft station is running tommorow as well as do shakedown cruise.

It may only be upgrade issue as I fired unit up today and GPS locked in under 30 sec..also the Airmar works great in 13 feet of water..will see how she does in 600' in the am...

I ran the 1.4.0 upgrade today, and the MPG feature didn't work. I have GPH, and MPH, but fuel economy-GPS didn't work at all. Don't know why, but it always read 0.00MPG.

The good news is I get 5.2-5.5MPG at 25MPH cruise (4000RPM), and between 4.5 and 5.0MPG at WOT, which was about 36 MPH. Slow trolling uses about 0.4 GHP, tuna speed (7MPH) is about 1.4GPH. That means that I should have plenty of range with 52 gallons of gas. My tank will only take about 44 gallons right now, but it's supposed to increase over 30-45 days.

Also, my transducer backet fix seemed to work just fine, as I had excellent bottom tracking all the way to top speed. Did I say how much Ilike the big screen? Most excellent.

front 104C is running ver 1.5.0..so I downloaded latest, will update later, hope it helps because the unit dows NOT like the Lowrance Nauticpath chip...anybody know what flashing black square in bottom right corner of units means? Often it would not zoom in or out.

The new 111 was Superb and the Airmar is SWEET..looks like I will upgrade to Airmar for the front also..

thx snowdog for getting me to think about the old version I had running.
