I think we have a failure to communicate.

It's possible to buy a map from MapTech, but they're not going to give them away. There is a way to prevent you from printing the map you can look at. Basically, you are building the map you want to receive in the mail.
FWIW, I bought a plastic coated map of Banks Lake, near Grand Coulee Dam, and I'll not be doing that again. Get a plain paper map, and take good care of it. Maybe it is possible to wax it, treat it with Scotchgard or something similar? Note to self: Experiment on cheap(er)(OLD) road maps. The plastic laminating was not a good

& not recommended.

A printed solid plastic map might be real trick, tho.
