Default Friday Eve

Had a lovely relaxed eve with a handful of ifish members. It was really fun!
Pilar, Kim Katsion of Clam Gulch Lodge fame, ummm and Gregg (hookset I think..) and lets see, Bait o eggs stopped by, and Bob.
Everyone is SO nice!
Bad news on two fronts. They have removed the dolphins that marked our way to the west channel. Bait o talked to the Corps of Engineers and they said it was to reduce maintenance??? Hmmmmm. Need GPS now, boys.
It's really sad. They have been there longer than any of us can remember and were our reference point from the Garibaldi Harbor.
Other sad news.... A fishing boat fishing very near the end of the South Jetty overturned today. We understand there may have been one fatality. No other details or confirmations.
Pilar brought some yummy smoked tuna, and Kim and Pilar got some nice crab. No Chinook. However, everyone saw a few caught here and there.
We are going to increase the pressure tomorrow, and the fish catchers will be very busy writing down our counts, right? Let's hope we'll have some huge slabs of fish on the bbq tomorrow!
Lets go.......!
More people arriving late tonight. As for me, I'm hitting the sack.

Good morning Jen (if you are reading this in the morning) . Fun day ahead. I too hope for a cooler water better bite today. We will likely start out early near the N. jetty Coast Guard tower to bounce and troll big plugcuts if the bar is OK. Probably will fish there or the lower bay thru high tide and a bit afterward; then maybe go on up to mid-bay or upper bay to fish spinners and Kwikfish for a bit on the outgoing. We'll look for you and crew in the red Ifish SV, and we'll be in Heater's big green N.River inboard, so we can shoot some fishin' breeze out there. See ya in awhile. - Steve

Thanks for your hospitality Jen! The home of Ifish is a very fishy place, (nice fish on the wall!) and I enjoyed our visit.

The report from T Bay today was;

1) Spinners at Bay city did ok, a few caught between 7 boats at high tide. Thanks for the report Bait o' Eggs.

2) The bubble was ok at high slack also. I saw about a dozen fish caught there. Including a double in a Boston Whaler. What were those guys using anyway?

3) Crab! we nailed 2 limits of hardbodies, but worked all day for them.

I plan on bringing my youngster and the crabs Saturday afternoon. I'll trade crab for Bar b Q or a good story. Oh yeah, there's some smoked Tuna left too. See you soon.
