Default Doing the right thing.

I'm getting sick and tired of heading to my favorite fishing spots only to see snaggers, people not tagging fish, people keeping multiple limits, people keeping wild fish, and peoples idea of releasing dark fish into the river is by kicking or throwing them into back into the water. I'm carrying my cell phone with me from here on out and will call the enforcement number printed on my license to report these activities. You never know who is standing next to you, it could be me. Play by the rules! Hopefully other readers to this board will do the same. We know the OSP is understaffed and they can't have eyes everywhere at once. Together we can hopefully control some of this. Don't risk your own safety when doing this, excuse yourself to a bathroom break to make the call and I've gotten into it with lawbreakers before and they will not hesistate to hurt you if they can. Again, be safe and thanks for anyone that will help.

I sure hope that it helps if it does come fishing on the reach the snaggers are thicker than the fish I thought that the name of the game was fishing not snagging but I guess that some folks!!!!!won't call them sportsmen god forbid they might have to follow the rules and come home with out fish but I guess thats
why it's called fishing and not catching. With jerks on the water like this makes me want to take up needle point ha ha ha keep up the good work and some day maybe only the good will survive good luck guy's

Good posts, and let's get after that stuff! Don't forget the sneaky snaggers with the long leaders and corkies. If they keep fish hooked on the outside of the jaw report it so they can be caught with the hole on the outside of the face or body. If they leave before enforcement arrives get their license number and description. - RT

My technique for dealing with poachers in a situation where lot's of other people are around is to use my rapier wit to humiliate them. Saying to them that their moma was stupid to raise a Humpie poacher always gets laughs/jeers out of the other anglers who would like to say something also. I had the fortune/curse of being 6'1 220 Italian with a fairly rightess attitude. These "people" need to learn that in this day and age poaching is'nt like driving 10mph over the limit in the fast lane. It causes the ripple effect that robs honest people now and down the road.

I think slinking away and contacting law enforcement is the prudent thing to do in remote areas(totaly against the grain for me) because God knows their capable of commiting all kinds of evil if the lack of conscience displayed ripping fish is any indication
