Hi Ron. I haven't heard about this. What water are you refering to that may see boat use restrictions? - RT - Edit: I am aware of the restrictions above Oxbow Park. By asking what water I am concerned they are considering a ban of fishing from a boat in the lower sections. I don't see a good reason for that. Anyone?

This is in reference of fishing in a boat. On the Sandy River Oxbow park and above whether you are able to fish from a floating device or not? Quite a conterverse.
Oooh. I thought possible further restriction. You are saying they may undo the no boat fishing regs above Oxbow. Interesting. Hey no controversy at all there the bankies wouldn't want that and the d-boaters would . Right?
I've got the article sitting right in front of me. It was in the Sept. 6th Gresham Outlook. It seems that guide Jack Glass is trying to open the river to fishing from a boat above the present deadline. Haven't heard whether it will change for sure or not.
I know that Jack would like more water to work for his clients but as a drift boater myself, I don't see keeping the restriction in place as a bad thing. Much like on the Deschutes where it keeps us from running plugs over every hot spot on the river and gives the fish somewhere to hide.
I don't mind giving the fish a little bit of an advantage. There is still plenty of good water to fish below the deadline. If you are willing to put in the time to learn the river the fish will come...
Willy,
I guess I agree with you about keeping the restriction, but I wish they'd build a ramp at the lower end of Oxbow. Then I wouldn't have to row so far, and I'd stay out of bank anglers water.
