I hate it when Phil wins, would much rather see Freddy or Tiger take it.

I'm definitely no Phil fan, would have been nice to see Tiger or Freddy make a few putts down the stretch, kinda of an anti-climatic finish.

I like it when Phil wins. He was at one time the best golfer to ever play the game who had never won a major.

I think he is a way better golfer than some would think even though he stands on the wrong side of the ball.

Curious .. why would you want Tiger to win over Phil... In all sports I get tired of seeing somebody dominate the league/peers. I like it mixed up and unpredictable.. and until the last day you know it could have gone anyway.. and on the back 9 it was for Phil to lose.

I didn't get to see much of it live.. here it starts at 10:00PM.. so I get left overs.. The back nine was not exciting but it was excellent golf - I love to see those guys struggle, makes me feel like I am not so bad.

I'll chime in as to why I would rather see Tiger win. I love sports history of any kind, and I love wathing it happen not hearing about how it used to be. I for one want to see Tiger chase down Jack's record for majors. Plus I have been a big fan of Tiger since the day I met him back in 97. Most people only see what he is like on the course, off the course he is a real nice guy.

Hey...I too altered my regular spring fishing schedule to be able to watch the final round of this year's Masters. Unlike so many who bash televised golf...I really enjoy watching it and the "majors" with so many cameras and angles and closeups...I love it!

I was pulling for Phil from day one but when Freddy was on the verge of a victory too, I was torn. I don't think a nicer pair of guys could have been playing in the final pairing.

I wouldn't have been upset if Tiger had come on strong at the end and won the whole thing either. I like top notch, very competitive players and he's one of the finest. You know...Tiger made me eat "humble pie" once. Back in the mid '90s when he was winning all those consecutive "US Amateur" titles...I proclaimed loud and clear to my buddies that he was just a "flash in the pan" and would just be a mediocre player on the pro tour and seldom heard from. Within months of my statement, he wins his first "Masters" by a dozen strokes or so and how many other "majors" since then? A truck load of them! He's good.

I enjoyed the 2006 Masters and looking forward to the next major on the tour.

Pretty sure Tiger Woods has many years of many victories still to come.

I am pretty sure Tiger is the player to beat but there are a lot of great players at the top of the game right now.

When Tiger came on the pro tour I feared that he was so good that he could not be beat. That would have ruined TV golf for me. I don't play the game but I like TV golf.

If he was winning every tournament it would be like watching a re-run of a game that you had already watched. Not near as much fun as watching the game live.

Papa...rarely do i disagree...but i must insist...

in golf, NOONE WILL EVER BE UNBEATABLE.

If you follow golf (especially amateurs and other players not on the PGA) then you'll know that there is soooo much talent out there that most people havent even seen....but soon will.

All the GREAT players were "unbeatable" at times, but in the grand scheme of things people will always faulter and someone else will fill their shoes.

Thats the beauty of the sport...

Im not a tiger fan, but I absolutely respect his game and willingness to sacrifice everything to win.

mandinga

I agree none is unbeatable and none will be.

I think that we really do agree on this topic. I agree with everything you said and maybe you misunderstood what I was saying.

I feared (my fears did not come to pass) that when Tiger came on the PGA that he would win every tournament and that would have ruined TV golf for me.

There are lots and lots of talent out there and you must admit that Tiger is the one to beat however he is not near as dominating as I had feared. Golf is an exciting TV sport for me and am happy for the great golf I see every week on my TV. I am happy that no one dominates the game.

I am watching for enjoyment only and have no particular golfer that I like to see win except maybe Phil. However if he were to win every tournament I would not be as exciting as not knowing who will win until the last nine.

I remember when Tiger came on tour...he was as dominating of a player as i have ever seen....im glad he struggles from time to time...but he is undoubtably the one to beat most of the time.
