Default EHW

I don't know about any of the rest of you but I am having seriouse bouts with Elk Hunting Withdrawls!!! How do you guys cope with it? I have been watching videos, shooting my bow, hiking and scouting but it still doesn't help?!?! With the springer fishing being a bust I am dang near out of options(if it wasn't for the resident starling population) and coming to the end of my wits. The significant other hid all my calls two months ago and now she is threatening to hide my DVD's too. Tell me how to cure this illness!!

Gotta agree....I've always told my friend and anyone who'd listen. The closest thing to bugling in elk is calling in a thundering gobbler. You hear'em answering and getting closer and then you wait ...and wait...and call and listen and wait. Did I mention the waiting? It's awesome and it all starts again in 2 weeks. Good luck with the shakes and fever.

Bear hunting, shed hunting, coyote hunting , hunting tweety with a rimfire, like somone else says . My next hunting trip is a scouting session for elk season, or something like that.

There's no cure! If there was I wouldn't want it.

Videos are a tease.

Spring bear hunting is fun but I catch myself listening for bugles and glassing for elk.

I tried turkey hunting, didn't help with EHW, was a kick, but still no cure.

This time of year I gamble on as many states biggame draws as possible, no help!

For me it eases up September 8 and goes away on the latest hunt I do, usually december. Then it all starts again. Vicious cycle!

Welcome to the world of Elkoholism! Proud to be an elk junkie!

A friend of mine wants to take me turkey hunting with him. The only thing that he wants is for me to use my bow so he can film it. I have always been told that calling and hunting turkeys is about as close to elk hunting as you can get.

I pulled out my mouth reeds and my Abe and Son's yesterday. Been harpin on them ever since. My apt sounds like a herd of sick, dying elk since yesterday about 1600. Man...I need WAY more practice
