Default Mobile Phone Provider Help

Okay, call me old fashion or anti-social or just practical. But here is where I need your help. I am looking at purchasing a mobile phone. I want the cheapest program/phone I can get along with. I see Tracfone Prepaid has some deals where you get a phone and phonecard(good for a year and 300 minutes) for hundred bucks. I don't see myself talking more than that and probably a lot less. Is their reception as good as others?(I am mainly concerned out fishing the Sandy or Wilson) If you were on a limited income who would you go with? PM if you don't want to "name names".
Thanks!

They say Verizon has the best coverage, so if they have a plan that is competetive, I would lean that direction. No point in paying for a phone only to be out of a service area when you really need it. I've had Verizon for years and have been very happy with their coverage and customer service.

verizon and cingular have prepay plans. you can save yourself a lot of money by getting a used phone from someone who has switched services or upgraded. just make sure it is from the company you want to go with and they shouldnt charge you a connection fee. I did that with my mother in law for a while until her work gave her a cell phone.

Cingular... I have had them all, and i somewhat live out in the country, and spend most time away from civilization, and i am now with cingular, and it is without a doubt the best i have had.... I think it just depends on where you use it most.

I was with Sprint for 4 yrs. I was very happy with them. I recently switched to Verizon to get on the family share plan with my Wife. My Sprint Contract was up, her Verizon plan was not.

Sprint will give you more for a cheaper price and they have very good coverage. I had pretty decent service on many areas of the Clack and Sandy. If you want, I can make you a heck of a deal on my Old Sprint phone, still works great. It's the Sanyo 8100, I have the Wall charger, Car Charger, headset, and 2 batteries. It was a $200 phone back in 2003. PM me if your interested.
