Ok y'all, I posted this question a long time ago, and here I am again. The time has come to see if anyone would like to volunteer to help out at the Newport OTC Event.
Just so you know, things are progressing nicely. We have a huge wealth of support, from the City itself, and from local businesses. I for one am super excited about working with both the Port and the City to do something this good.
I don't want to give out all the particulars until they are finalized, but I can say that it looks like the event will be held at South Beach, and that we should have some special provisions made for registered participants.
At this time I am putting together a list of anyone who would like to volunteer their time to help out. Currently I don't have any specifics, but those are sure to come. Most of the things that will need help with will be simple and straight forward. Giving directions to people, handing out packets, reviewing lists, etc. Some of the most important people for this event will be ones that are shore based, and not actually out fishing. Things such as checking boats in and out, relaying information to people, etc.
I know a lot of people have expressed interest in helping, and for that I am very appreciative. If you can't help, no problem!
If you wish to volunteer, please e-mail me directly at
mike@nalucharters.com
Please indicate the following:
Are you intending to fish in the tourney, or be shore based?
What days do you feel comfortable helping out?
What time of day do you feel you could help out?
Will you have access to a boat and/or VHF?
Do you have any particular skill, or contact that you feel would be helpful?
Thanks to all!
Mike
