Default Roseburg Turkeys

Hey all heading down on friday for some scouting/ new scenery. Any suggestions? No I do not want honey holes just wondering what to expect. Is there alot of poison oak? Are the bears out and about? general info is appreciated. Thanks for you time.

there is a lot of poision oak in that area. Oak and Ivy stop before & tecnu afterward can keep the nasty stuff at bay.

Since you are hunting public land, try over by loon lake. The melrose unit has the most turkeys per square mile than pretty much anywhere in the state, but it also is mostly private land.

Since you are in Bend, you also might want to try over by John Day. Lots more public access and a good ammount of turkeys.

Lots of turkeys in the Roseburg area. Had two long beards and three jakes strutting nearly in the front yard two days ago. The best hunting is probably on private land. Would suggest you call or stop by the ODFW regional office located on Diamond Lake Blvd.(Hwy 138). This area is well known for lots of poison oak.
