Default caught 2 smallies at the willamette

went out for an hour and caught 2 smallie near oregon city.one
was caught on grub and the other on a crank bait.they were around 2 pounds.Is it just me or do the bass from the columbia
fight harder?

currents stronger there. No jk, i have no idea, havent ever caught one from either.

its probably just water temps. When the water is colder the fish wont fight as hard. Unless the fish in the Columbia fight super hard, I dont think they would fight better. I've even had a big willy smallmouth pull out drag heading upstream!!

may be it is the difference in water temp. but to me, when i catch a 1 pound bass at the columbia
along marine drive. they seem to fight as hard as a 2pounder at the willy.during may i fish marine drive more then the willamette,cause when you hook on to a 3to4 pound bass it seems like they could fight forever!

i've tried the chinook landing area but it seems too beachy to me. maybe i just need to head up/down river some more.

i fish around the 205 bridge.mile west and 1/2 mile east of it.just fish along the rocks.you will catch a lot of small ones but eventually you will catch one over 20 inches.biggest one i caught their measured 23.5 inches.oh very snagy
