Default Rig in the river (pic)

Thought I'd share a couple pictures of that rig that went into the Clackamas R.

I have no idea how they're going to get it out, you can see how high the bank is and it's a pretty unstable bank at that.

Wow....I read about it, but it looks a whole lot worse than I imagined with the high bank as it is.

Thanks for the pic DJ

They first have to clean up the road so they can bring in a crane big enough to pull that up out of the river. I think they were going to try and shore up the hill first.

They are going to have to cut that thing out piece by piece. Of course we can now call the upper end of boys home the cat hole. It will be like the old days when we had the Car Body just up stream from the Coffee Hole.

I wonder if you could plunk from that?

You could probably find a couple built in rod holders.

All kidding aside, I am so glad no one was hurt. That's a miracle.

I hope, too... that there are no fuel leaks.

My guess is they'll probably have to have Columbia Helicopters or Campbell Crane come in and pick it up. Those guys can pick up some HUGE stuff. That little backhoe will be easy.

In either case, I would LOVE to be there.

I sure hope the operator had his "Skid Lid" on! Any injuries? Remember the Cement mixer that fell into the Rogue River below Agness in the Copper Canyon? Still there! If that thing gets mudded/silted/graveled in it might be a tough lift. A job for the "TERMINATOR!" Anyone have Arnies phone number at his new digs?

It'll be interesting to see what builds up around it if this high water event comes off. Should be a nice debris pile after that.

So are we going to start calling it the tractor hole now? If they leave it in there it could be good holding water.

I hope they tell us when they are going to pull that thing out.

With the forcast for 2 inches of rain, that thing may just wind up covered in silt and rock. Then the weight might get a little much.

Maybe like Jennie said, make it into a fishing platform. Pour a little concrete on it and a trail down to it and another platform.

Three Words, Sikorsky Sky Crane !!!!
I cut timber under one a time or two and they have got some pickin power.
Also there is not enough fuel or Hydro fluid in there to do any kind of damage.
