Default What to look for in a pressure cooker?

I want to get a pressure cooker. I plan on catching a few TUNA! and canning them. Want to try some other things, also. Having not looked into them at all, thought I'd start by getting your opinions. What to look for, home use size, etc. Any opinions and advice are appreciated

Thanks

Get one with a weight for a pressure indicator, that way you don't have to get it periodicaly checked or calibrated.

Well you have two basic designs....one with a gasket, and one without.

The gasket type are the ones you find at Bi Mart, etc. for under 100.

The non-gasket type includes brands such as All American. I have one of these: http://www.pressurecooker-outlet.com/921.htm

....the lid has a metal to metal bevel seal.

There are plenty of folks who will say that the cheaper, gasket types do just fine & never have a problem. This might be true for most folks. But when you hear someone tell a story about what happens when a gasket fails....you will think twice about not spending a little more money on a non-gasket type.

Wow....guess I need to save a couple more pennies. Had no idea they were that expensive. Thanks for the input, folks. I'll look around some more.
