Thanks Marty. Where can I pick her up? She looks a little young?

Funny thing you bring up emus; one of the converstations I had with a passenger on the B.C. Ferry ride down the Inside Passage was from Australia, and he talked about all their unusual animals; including emus of course. I just smiled. I didn't want to explain why.

- Another great conversation was a long one with a Native Indian man from the B.C. Island village of Bella Bella. We talked about the regions fishing and eventually the nettng issues. He is a Tribal teacher and believes they should stick to traditional fishing methods and not modern gill and seine nets. He spoke of stories of huge steelhead runs that used to go up the Bella Coola and Dean rivers near his village on the central B.C. coast, and how their numbers have declined. Very interesting, given that hot topic around the Col. R. and NW Washington areas. - Hey, I now know what a great day on the Nushagak must be like Marty. Read my long post about our fishing trip to NW B.C. Thanks again for the cute little emu. Yum. NOT. - Steve
