Default Beretta Pintail Camo 12 ga. 3" vs Benelli

My hunting partner won a Beretta pintail camo 3" at
Turkey Banquet recently and may want to sell it.

I'm looking for a new duck gun and have been thinking about a Benelli Black Eagle but they are expensive.

Several Questions:1. Would I be happy with the Beretta Pintail? 2.What would a fair offer be for the Beretta?
3. Should I wait and save for the Bennelli?

I have a SBE and it is by far worth every penny. I shoot ducks, geese, deer and even coyotes with it. Its light, fast and very reliable. You can break the gun down including the bolt in about a minute, so hence very easy to clean as well. The only bad thing I have heard is there customer service is a very slow at getting back to you on questions. I wouldn't hunt with anything else, but I haven't shot the Beretta so I can't compare the two.

I have a benelli m-1 and it is by far the finest shotgun I have owned. I must say that I have never shot a beretta.

I own a Beretta AL390 Silver Mallard. It is my baby and shoots like a dream. I have never heard of a pintail and I cannot find it on the italian version beretta website or beretta USA. Is it a semi-auto?

Anyway if it is a semi-auto going rate is probably about $500 or more to get an exact price I would call a gun shop and they can look for it in the blue book of guns.

The Pintail went out of production a few years ago. I tried to find a new one about 18 mo. ago and nobody had any in stock nor could they find one in the Beretta inventory. Ended up with a left-hand 1187 instead.

The Pintail action is recoil operated, very similar to the Benelli M1, M2 and SBE. If you don't need to shoot 3.5 inch shells ,then a Pintail would be a very good alternative to a Benelli auto, and should cost less than half what a new SBE goes for.
