Default Weekend hotspots?

So what's the verdict for this weekend? Where do the experts think the best fishing is going to be? Bouy 10? Mouth of the Cowlitz? Tillamook Bay? Mouth of the Sandy? Sandy? Clackamas? Where's the best shot of getting into some salmon this weekend?

I stopped after work on Thursday and watched some of the combat fishing at mouth of Clackamas. Didnt see any nests fly in 2 minutes, but about 50 to 70 people on 1 drift.

I just smiled and walked away.

that's a joke, meaning I'm too scared to go all the way to '10' in my 16' 1958 boat ! !

Actually, 22 is downstream from the bridge - I'll be somewhere between Jetty'A' and the bridge - probably everywhere between, depends on the weather and the salmon ~~~

keep the tip up ...

I floated by the combatters on the clack today. It was the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen. I wonder how many of those fish are lined. Anyway, I could only get a coho jack in the boat up at riverside and two monster ********* that won't be eatin' smolts any more. The bankies were yarding out the coho again today. They looked like nice bright fish.

The Clackamas is usually too busy for me, but its on the way home. Can someone tell me how bankies are fishing? Drifting eggs, throwing spinners, plunking, Bobber fishing?

FURTHER RESEARCH IS INDICATED!

As for me, planning to try Buoy,eh,22 on Monday. Might also check out the Clackamas, most likely as an "observer"

Good luck and leave your firearms at home -

My buddy just called me from the river. He is near Frenchman's Bar in the Columbia. Five hookups as of 10 am. I don't remember how many in the boat. Also look at the most recent post about Clack silvers. 100 fish caught at the mouth before 9am on Wed!! Sounds like a good bet for this weekend as long as you don't mind rubbing elbows.

I was watching today and saw a lot of corkies and yarn. There was more jerking going on than one would expect to see. But I wasnt fishing so not sure if they were bites or flossing. All of the fish I saw hit the bank were hooked INSIDE of the mouth. Not what I expected to see. Near the McLoughlin Bridge they are drift fishing.

A few people were actually using eggs.

Jerking (verb) - Raising pole from horizontal to vertical position in a fast motion.

One would guess people were trying to snag the fish, with all the jerking of the poles. Didnt see any fish hooked other than in the mouth.

Flossing is a technique where you slide the line thru their mouth, hooking the fish in outside of the mouth usually. A snagging technique used by some when the fish numbers are very high in a small spot.
