Sturg report part 2 Pics.1/27

went back out after some sturgeon when i got off work. i just couldnt resist it after the fishing we had sunday. The day started with this nice catfish for the fry pan,YYYYYUUUMMM!
Me and a buddy had plenty of action for the 4 hours we got to fish. we ended up each bringing home a keeper, and released some fish as well. I let this 43" go on to live another day.
this is a pic of a hog i couldnt resist not punching the tag on, He came home with the boat. Smelt once again was the bait of choice. I did not have time to thaw any bait, and used the vaccum packed smelt that was left in the boat from sunday, and they tore it up!! I couldnt beleive it. The fish were unbelievably aggressive today. Yes, this was wrong pic posted, this was buddy Rons fish, whom is camera shy. 42" sorry!! Its been a long day up since 4:30 am.

Nice fish! Thanks for the explination on the pic screwup too, as I was going to avoid congratulating you on your catch having thought that you'd released a fish after placing a rope through it. They are both beauts, and i'm sure they taste pretty decent as well. :-)

First and foremost hats off to a great day on the river Now you know why I don't post pics anymore

You and Shane might want to take your pics away from the spot you guys are fishing. That is a great spot to fish and I usually hit it in the middle of the week or when the springers are in full force so I don't stir too much attention to it. That spot is a small area and unless you want 3200 boats in that area before the summer arrives, I would keep it protected. I have lost a good area a time or two because of the same reason. Oh yea, we got two big channel cats from that spot three weeks ago. You guy should drift a piece of smelt about five feet off the bottom through that area next time on your way out, you might be surprised of the outcome
