I was sent a video clip of a lion charging some hunters. You guys may have seen it already but I hadn't. It came to me as an attachment so I don't know how to forward it to here. ??? I can forward to someone if you know how to post it.

Re: Lion attack video
Looked like a canned hunt. Noticed a lot of posts. They probably hand fed it the day before the hunt. I was rooting for the lion.....

Re: Lion attack video
Not a canned hunt, Infact its not a hunt!! They responded to a call that a roag lion had killed a small child in a village. The hunter was asked if he would shoot it and he agreed. I read the whole story about this lion a few years ago on a reloading fourm and the actual guy that shot was part of the disscution. He said his first shot was bad and he thinks he missed it every time since the first shot. Thats The jist I got

Re: Lion attack video
I would like to see any of us stay calm and hit that beast charging as fast as he was. Canned hunt or not, those guys had some serious stones in my book. I watched it in slow motion. Unreal how lucky they were to hit him at the last possible second. VERY lucky no one was hurt other than a scratch.

Re: Lion attack video
I'm thinking a semi-auto shotgun with "00" buck would have been really handy to have in this instance. Man that cat could move . Very lucky dudes!! Kris.

Re: Lion attack video
Shotgun is not legel for dangerous game in any African country. Min is 375 H&H in most countries. Some PH's will us a shotgun to follow up on leperd. But there are others that think a shotgun has no place in the field in Africa except for birds. Not real sure why.

Re: Lion attack video
I kinda woulda liked to see the lion score one. I don't know why anyone would want to shoot one of those great cats? The other day I saw a show on OLN and they were hunting elephants, another one I don't get? It seemed pointless and kind of sad.

Re: Lion attack video
There are lots of places in the world where elephants are very dangerous and cause major havoc to farmers. Occaisionaly governments will give out damage control type tags for specific elephants, quite often young bulls. I watched a special on national geographic channel about it. It was very informational and well done. They even talked about one elephant that would knock on peoples doors and when they opened up he would grab them and maul them.
