Predator threads poll
I ain’t making a point to tell folk what they can post or not just lookin’ for what others are thinking about. I do not know how many threads I have read complain’ about the predator gig. Same folk same song and dance. Hey I get it that it is a hunting forum but IMO many times it seems like a complain’ board about wolfs and cougars (no lions, or tigers but a little bit on bears ). Simple poll is anyone else tired of the predator complain’ threads? They seem to get all kinds of view hits but really

Re: Predator threads poll
Is this like the post complaining that the duck hunters just wouldn't give up and accept that season was over?
But I do have to agree with you. Sometimes those of us who spend a great deal of their hunting time and energy pursuing predators can get a little redundent in our stories and concerns.
I suspect that if we just let it rest, the predators will silently slip away and quit being a problem. (If they are a problem, that is)

Re: Predator threads poll
I don't have an issue with the stories of hunts or posts which talk about what someone is doing to move their position forward. I especially like to see that posters are OHA and NRA members.
I do, however, get sick of the "we're all victims" posts.

Re: Predator threads poll
Interesting poll. I said yes simply because the vast majority of these predator threads are of the generalized ‘shot them so I can hunt more mentality’ or the ever famous ‘shoot, shovel and shut-up.’
Now if, and there have been some, the majority of the predator threads were more educational with an unbiased non-combative approach that would be a good thing. We could all benefit from learning more about the “big picture”; I know I would like to. It's obviously a much more complicated subject than normally “complained” about in the typical post and I’m assuming that is at least in part your point.

Re: Predator threads poll
This was a pretty good forum before the duck hunters showed up :depressed: Then the goose hunters started to think they were better because there birds were bigger A few predator hunters showed up and that got the pot stirring with what is ethical and moral by the ifish better than you crowd. Deer hunters who hunted before the turn of the century want to complain how it isnt like it use to be, a couple guys want to quote how it really was from lewis and clark journals Any hunter with at least a room temperature IQ, understands man has changed the predator/prey relationship and having predators at full carrying capacity doesnt leave much for man to hunt, but we can complain about that also. All those dang Californians moving in and building houses in the winter range is killing our animals and that gets complained about. Yep there is plenty to complain about on ifish and plenty gets complained out, heck this thread is a complaint about the complaints
I still think the best complaint I have read is where the complaint was about shed hunters hurting the animals

Re: Predator threads poll
I think I fish is cool because people have a place to voice there thoughts to a lot of folks.....folks who may relate because they are Pacific Northwest outdoorspeople.
The worst thing that could happen is if people quit posting because they were worried of the "almighty flame"....or if people quit posting because there were rules against "complaining.
As has been said a million times on this board....you may not like it....so don't read.
I personally don't like to complain a whole lot...but we all have our beefs. If at some time I feel like letting you guys know what is bothering me in the "hunting world"....I will. So should be the priviledge of these folks.
I enjoy reading most of the posts on this board....plain and simple. So I guess my answer is let 'em keep posting.

Re: Predator threads poll
I think anyone interested in wildlife in general is tuned in sharply to the predator issues we have. It is like this, I dont do much waterfowl hunting anymore, but the overwhelming amount of waterfowl posts dont bother me. If the thread title doesnt interest me I skip it. As long as the threads dont get personal or turn ugly a ton of good information is passed along. That is what this forum is all about. Sharing info, learning something, and meeting good people. Rank, Baltz, Skein, whoever.....keep them coming.

I voted "don't care". If you don't like the topic, don't read about it. You could skip anything that has to do w/ predators if you want. Or if you want even more info on predators, PM me and I can tell you about a website dedicated to predator hunting.

Re: Predator threads poll
I like Ifish to be honest, hunting for me has been a personal eexperience with the guys that I hunt with. We are small group and we are all the same page so when somebody disagrees with what I have come to accept as fact I learn a great deal .
Personal attacks are not good but a lot of us get emotional about our what we think is right and we are quick on the trigger.
