GI Joes - positive post

Although it's a little belated, I would like to post a good word for the GI Joe's Delta park store. I was in there weekend before last and had a great shopping experience.

I hadn't been down to the Delta Park store for a long time due to it being a rather long drive for me. Wow, it has really turned into a nice store! They carry a nice assortment of higher end gear that I am not used to seeing at their other stores that I visit.

In addition, Brandon the young guy working back at the reel counter was a nice guy to talk to and knew his stuff ( I guess it helps having Jack Glass as your dad) :smile:

Anyhow, wanted to relate a positive experience. I will definitely be making the trip to the Delta Park store more often now.

I was impressed too. Good selection, and some higher end stuff (for guys like us)

I like shopping in Joes, as much as F&M, and SportsmanWrhs.

They complete each other.

I'm with the completion...or rather the compliment. It's nice having stores that do compliment each other once in a while. I will say that at different times I have actually had salespeople tell me that I'd find something they don't have at their competition's store. That's complimenting each other.

Would like to add to the good feelings. I bought an Abu 6500 and a package of 50# XP to fill it, two weeks ago at the Eastport store with the 20% off coupon. This store was offering a free bulk mono reel fill with any reel over $40. Since I was filling my reel with the XP, the guy behind the counter, Khoi, gave me a slip to use for filling another reel. Well, I took the reel and slip to the Hillsboro store, and after a quick phone call, honored the slip and filled my old 5500 with 20# UG Chameleon. Nice.

I was in the Hillsboro store this week to get some ball sinkers that were on sale. The clerk gave me a lot of help. I thought I could get an assortment of weights that would total the five pounds, but he checked and it was five pounds per size. So I asked him for a couple bags but he had to go up front and get some carriers (no bags). Then I started to check sizes and most of them did not have sizes on them, so he helped this old man find five pounds of each size for me.

Very courteous and helpful.

I still think that the add was made up wrong, but I needed the weights. I now have enough for a season, I hope. Did you know that it takes 30 size threes to make five pounds?
