Harrington finished in Detroit!
It looks like Joey has been shown the door in Motown. Good.
Now maybe he can go to a team that actually has some potential. I wonder who has cap room to snap him up.

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
I think that Joey has the potential to be a great QB in the NFL unfortunately Detroit was a bad fit for his style. He was also never given a proper chance by the rest of the team to prove himself as a leader, they wanted him to fail so he did. Detroits offensive line has been a joke I rarely saw them give him enough time to get out of the pocket and don't get me started on the receivers, I've seen them drop perfectly catchable passes and even stop running their route effectively when they see the ball coming their direction. I'm not sure where I would like to see him go specifically but a team with an aging QB and a couple good recievers would probably be the best for him. It would let him slowly find his place on the team and get his confidence back after Detroit before throwing him back into the spotlight.

Well, my grudging Beaver background want's me to gloat over Joey-5-picks misfortune, but that would be wrong. Wish him well, hope this opens a better door for him.

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
A Quarterback is no better than his front line, any Quarterback need's more than 1 1/2 seconds to get rid of the ball, none of the other Lion's Quarterback's did any better, he took quite a beating in Detroit, but still held his head up high & didn't put blame on anybody, time will tell if has what it takes to shine in the NFL, he still has youth on his side, & with the right team I think he has the potential for excellence, If he has one weakness tho, it's he's too nice, the NFL has no mercy for nice guy's.

Joey's a class act and a Duck, which is pretty much the same thing. I hope he succeeds wherever he goes and at the very least I don't have to root for Detroit this year

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
I disagree with you completely. There is much joy in Duckville. Joey can fianlly get a chance to play for a much better team than Detroit. He went through Holy **** in Detroit, coaching changes, poor offensive line, no running game, poor recievers, no team or fan support. It was a terrible situation for him in Detroit, that can only get better with a new team, and a new outlook for Joey.
WOO HOO FOR JOEY, DUCKVILLE CELEBRATES!!!!

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
well...ya'll can forget about Joey playing next year. It looks like he's headed for a back-up role behind Kurt Warner down in Arizona. Good for him. he needs some time in an environment where he can learn and grow. he got thrown to the Lions in Detroit. (pun intended)

On the contrary I can finally start rooting for Detroit again. And as for ducks being a class act must I remind you of the Onterrio Smith whizzinator incident? Go Beavs

On the contrary. Given the history of injuries that Kurt has had, I would say that it would be a very good idea for Joey to stay ready for when Kurt gets injured. With Edgerrin James as his running back, it will be a wonderful opportunity for Joey to show Detroit that he wasn't the problem with the franchise.

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
Personally, I'd love to see Harrington sign on with Green Bay. The Packers could pay Brett Favre to tutor him for a couple years, I think it would be a great fit for him.

JustCallMeDave - yes, i agree..it is the role of every back-up to be ready when the starter goes down.

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
Was watching some comentary about this on ESPN the other day. Most of all the comentators agreed that given a better team with better teachers, Joey could be at LEAST better than average. I LOVE the idea of him in Green Bay. Favre would be a great teacher. I'm a Beaver fan, but an Oregon boy doing well will always make me happy.

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
Derek is a big guy with a big arm, but is still a little clumbsy on his feet, Joey has the advantage in the mental department, & proved he can take a pounding...so it's hard to say, I think it's all about getting on a team that suit's
their style best will make the difference.

Re: Harrington finished in Detroit!
If Joey does go to arizona i would imagine he would end up being the starter there in a year or two. maybe he could be the guy Jake Plummer never was....
