Default Simple Question for this board!

What is the name of the river that runs through Seaside and does it have a good run of Salmon??

Last year my wife had a conference in Seaside and I fished the Nehalem for those four days and had a great time...but everyday I would drive over that river and just wonder....thanks in advance!

Jim,

That is the Necanicum River, and it does get a supplemented run of chinook salmon and steelhead. Never really fished it before, but I bet there are plenty of board members that would elaborate on the topic.

Ding, ..... thank you for playing! It's the Necanicum and has sea run Cutts, steelhead and a few coho? Ask around Seaside and maybe you can learn more. I fish the winters up by the hatchery when they run in December. We used to get cutts up by the Bridgetender Tavern when you could still keep them. The bend is your friend!

Can I what? Pilar, the one in that area with a hatchery is the N.F. Nehalem (or a small one up Youngs Bay). The one by Seaside doesn't have a hatchery. It also doesn't have a fish in it! Right Jen? It's a waste of time. It's called the Nocanicum River (or the Nocanphish, something like that, I can't remember). - RT
