Default Rumor-Chinook may reopen at B-10

After fishing at Frenchman's bar next to Jerry, RT and Co. I was visited by the local fish checker who is also a fisher. He said he heard that the quota of Chinook at b10 was not met. That the fishing slowed way down and that there is talk about reopening it.

I am passing it on as a rumor only and to offer hope for those who may still have their boats down there. I would call the WDFD to see what the official ruling is if you haven't pulled your boats out yet.

By the way, Jerry's boat is awesome looking and would still be clean if RT didn't drop the donut filled with cream on the floor.

Hey Walt, how did you learn to throw a donut curve ball? Bring some more to the mouth of the Cowlitz Wed. and let's give that another try. If I don't catch any fish I bet I'll get the donut (excuse the pun). - RT

I heard that just a little under 6000 chinook were caught. The last 4 days dropped off totally unexpected. I for one thought those tides would have been an excellent time to load the boat up! Can't blame the states though, tough call to predict what is going to get caught and still give enough notice that everyone gets the heads up. I suppose if anyone here has a better idea they should speak up.

The two state managers will meet Tuesday to get a better idea of what is left and what the next course of action is. Still a very touchy fishery. Remember last year, when in a week there were about 6000 fish caught!! That was an explosive bite. This year seemed to just kind of trickle along the whole time.
