NO! ....(jk). At least not today. But aboard Jerry's cool new Motion Marine sled Vern S., Don Larson (Sturgeon, Salmon, Steelhead website), and I couldn't hook one either. We fished the outgoing tide in the Frenchman's Bar area in the Col. below Kelly Pt. from morn. to noon and only saw 2 fish hooked among a throng of boats. Fishing was reportedly very good down river around the Col.City/St. Helen's area yesterday, so FB should have been a good prospect today. As slow as it was, I still think we could have done better if Jerry hadn't insisted that we use shad darts though. Go figure

. - BTW, I test drove the new 20' MM sled with Mercruiser Sportjet 175 (250 hp at the head/custom tiller handle model) and that boat is really impressive! It rides nice thru waves, corners exceptionally well, and appears very well built. And with that new motor/jet setup it flatout hauls! - RT - Oh ya: For those that haven't gotten "dialed" in on the Col. fall 'nook fishing yet let me put out a few tips. Unlike in years past when we would most often fish in 20' to 35' of water with 3' droppers, lately the ticket to ride has been to fish 40' to 50' depths with 5' droppers. From gathered info the best lures still seem to be the Alvin and Clancy wobblers; although there are others that are also very good. The current Aug./Sept. issue of STS magazine has a good tech article on these wobblers and spoons, and tuning them for proper action. Good luck out there. - Steve
