Seem's a little early due to water temps. But to counter my response. Being my first post, a story.A few years back I should say quite a few years back I was fishing the scoggins arm opening weekend for largemouth, pitchin plastics black, purple, motor oil, typical cold water tactics nothing going on. Noticed the trout were hitting the top. Grabbed my trout rod and pitched a fly bobber with an Adams. Couple casts into it hooked a small rainbow, surfing it back to release it, bam huge boil. 4lb line singing like a sewing machine off of my ultra light, "snap" gone. Picked up my bass rig tied on a 4" rapala thrashed the water for half an hour nothing.I noticed my bobber floating back down stream ,I'll throw out and get it back, hooked onto it all of a sudden it takes off up stream
screamin like a banshee, snap...Gone. You never know when you will get into them.

Hagg does produce pretty much all year round *atleast while you can fish it* the problem is finding that day when the stars align and Hagg really heats up. That lake is so unpredictable you have a good shot any day of the week! I went out there last year with Bucketmouth and we got nothing but a sneeze, went back the next week and caught over 50 bass. Its really that unpredictable!

Hagg hasn't been to hot for bass, try for trout.

Yes,after that top water take on the trout I thought what the heck. I was fishing the edge of the grassbeds in waders so not much room for gear, don't usually carry much for top water that early. Water was high and cold, usually going low and slow is your best bet. A few weeks later when things warmed up and the water dropped a little, the place was thick with bass. That spring my biggest was 24" 7lb 6oz don't usually keep them but this was my biggest oregon bass so I thought I'd mount it, couldn't find anyone to do it for less than 10$ an inch didn't have the money at the time. Felt bad about that one. Couple days later was sight fishing and spotted the biggest female I've ever seen moving along a grass bed, easily 6 inches longer than the 7lber I had caught, finally got her to take a purple lizard off the bottom she took me into willow thicket and broke off. 10lb plus guaranteed. Caught probably 20 fish that spring in the 4-5lb range and countless 1-2 lbers. Water level as well as temp dictates a lot when it comes to Haggs largemouth.
