Broadhead tests.
Noticing a few new sliver slingers showing up around here. Here's a link to a archery page that does some serious testing of broadheads. www.broadheadtests.com Might be worth checking out if you're curious about what broadhead to use.

Re: Broadhead tests.
Looks like you have to pay to see most of the tests. You can see the results of a handful of heads though. Still worth checking out.
Here's what the broadhead I use scored.
"SLICK TRICK 100 GRN 1” CUT
Plywood: 5 points
Steel drum: 6 points
Tire: 4 points
Cutting surface: 2
Accuracy: 5 points
Blade sharpness: .75 points (B)
Non-Mechanical head: 2 points
Total score: 24.750 (out of 25 possible)
Plywood: full penetration, no damage.
Steel drum: full penetration of both sides, no damage.
Tire: full penetration, no damage."

Re: Broadhead tests.
I have been to that site before and it is how I made my choice to the broadhead I use.

Re: Broadhead tests.
I haven't looked up the broadheads I use but I'm going to now. Thanks
I think bad placement has more issues than my broadhead choice, but, if the choice can help those bad hits it is worth it, right??

Re: Broadhead tests.
OregonOutdoors,
There's a couple shops up here that sell them, but I don't know about down your way. Check them out on www.slicktrick.net. You can order them direct from the manufacturer pretty easily. I used them last year, they fly very well, and they put big holes in whatever you hit. One thing I didn't like was the blade sharpness. They do the job though.

Try the Bow Rack over in Springfield by Freddies I think on Q st.
You might also try the place over on West 11th can't remember the name of that place though. probly somethin simple like West 11th archery or somethin
If you can't find them down there some place and want some let me know, we are down that way quite often. I could pick some up for ya and drop them off next time we are down that way.
My personal broadhead of choice is the magnus stinger 4 blade 125s. This is a deadly head lots o blood to follow and usually a short trail to follow also.

Re: Broadhead tests.
This last year was my first year using slick tricks. They flew very well for me out of my allegiance. I wasn't getting good flight out of my muzzies and decided to try something new. I check archerytalks website quite a bit for archery info and they were speaking real highly of the slick tricks so I gave them a shot. The only complaint I have with them is the blades weren't that sharp out of the package. A little time with the sharpener and they were good to go. They leave a pretty good hole. Which results in easier tracking.
I ended up getting mine on ebay, because I couldn't find anyone local that had them when I was looking to buy. Haven't checked lately.

Re: Broadhead tests.
Thanks, right now I am shooting Rocky Mountain Ironheads and have been throughly impressed with them. The slick trick reviews have been too numerous and good to be ignored. I will probally just pick up a pack off ebay as no one local carries them.

Re: Broadhead tests.
Slick tricks are the best broad heads I have ever shot, period. This is coming from an old school traditionalist that shot Wensel Woodsmans, Magnus and Grizzlies from longbows and recurves for ten years and Thunderhead 125's and Muzzys out of compounds before that. The Slick Tricks are solid, true flying heads that I'm sold on.
