Default OHA banquet last night.

I had a good time, but no guns. In fact a big goose egg, but heck I didn't expect to win anything, never do.

What was very disturbing was somebody stole two knives off the tables last night. Somebody sure did have some gonads, that is definately not the crowd to be caught doing that at! They just took knives, probably because they are easily concealed. They said the one knife was worth around $300 and probably could not be replaced.

OHA said they would make good, but that surely is going to cost them some much needed funds. I think they said they rasied $51,000 of which $29,500 was the state wide deer hunt auction tag, still that is a lot of money!

That must have been a scab hunter there last night. We had a knife stolen at our banquet several years ago also. I think I know who did it just could not prove it. He has not been to a banguet after that. In fact I do not think he is a member any longer. Takes a low life to steal from this or any other fund-raiser.

We have banguest next Satruday and a hunt to New Zealand is the first item up. Telephone bids will be taken with prior coordination.

when i was a kid, everywhere you went there where phesants. if there was a way to bring back the numbers, to a huntable level. a lot of dads would be bringing their children into the hunting tradition. i was started hunting on doves, then phesants, then ducks. big game came later.how many farmers do you know that raise birds, or farm in a way that leaves ground cover for birds. when i was a kid a lot of people raised birds, that where released to become wild. now you need permits, how about simplifing the process. if you live in an area, suitable for phesants/quail/chuckers/turkeys, have the odfw certify your breeding stock and then have at it.no further permit needed

Ummm yep that would be great But what does that have to do with this post???? what ya putting in your pastes..hehe

That's the best one I've seen in a while! Laughing with you Baltz, not at you.

Gee, I can see how red he is from here. It will happen to us all someday.

I'm just wondering why it seems the conclusion has been drawn that the knives were stolen by a member (or members). I'm not saying it wans't. I wasn't there. Could the thefts have been by restaurant staff or someone just walking-through? Don

Don, that very well could have been the case. You did not have to show anything to gain entrance, so a low life could have just walked through.

Yep, I would have really like to try out that .325 short mag!

The Black-Tail Classic Banquet & Auction, Salem Chapter OHA, is this Saturday. The news of this incident will be passed on to all involved. We are all sorry for the loss, but because of it, we will be more vigilante in watching over ours. If anyone is interested, we still have a few seats available.
