Default Dutch Oven Cookbook- Cee Dubb?

An earlier post re: camp traditions and what you like about hunting camp caused me to remember something. I saw a program on TV and this Cee Dubb fella was cooking a Prime Rib in a Dutch Oven (DO) and it looked great. He browned the seasoned roast and then "packed" it in rock salt in the DO. Cooked the prescribed time, checking temp with meat probe.....pulled the roast out. The roast had a crust of salt that Cee Dubb cracked off with his big slicing kife. He then proceded to slice between two ribs and cut off the most delicious looking steak/ribe-eye, running juices....yada yada yada.

My question is does anyone have his cookbook(s) that are available online and does this cookbook(s) have this recipe?

Thanks,

Mark

He was at the portland sportsmens show. Cee Dubb is a great guy. I have 3 of his books and they all have some great recipes. You can find all of his books at sportsmens warehouse. I make his brisket recipe and his country style pork rib recipe every year at elk and deer camp. It used to be for fun and a change up but now the crowd demands it. Cee Dubbs bourbon pineapple upside down cake is always a favorite.

I can't remember if his books have his prime rib recipe. But there's not much recipe to prime rib, really. In fact, you pretty much wrote out the recipe, minus the "remove from heat at 130 degrees and let sit for an hour before slicing."

My fav in the dutch oven is stuffed cornish game hens. Great in camp!

I will have to look for that cook book. I use a flat ducth oven at home almost every weekend for chicken or stew or roast meat. Works great. Can some one expand on how to cook a cobbler mine keep coming looking like pudding it is good crust is not cooking right. Do the barries go on top or on the bottom? Serisouly.

I will check out the copies and pick one or two or all up...

I too love the cornish game hens in the DO. They are a "demanded" meal too.

You can go to his website and order the recipe books. Just "Google" his name.

Onstep, thanks for the Cee Dubb source.
My mom has a libary of Dutch Oven cookbooks.

On the next Ifish Predator Hunt, Or maybe a Turkey hunt, we should hold a Dutch Oven cookout. I think it would be cool to all do our favorites and do a camp potluck and share recipes and tips, tricks. Oh sure we can talk all we want, but nothing beats the eating part!!!
