Default Nehalem update

Just got off the Nehalem. Didn't fish the jaws, just by the bridge in Nehalem and through the channel a bit.
Fish jumping everywhere and not a bite to be seen. Probably saw 15 fish jumping, even a silver...
Water temp is cooling down, a few more of these cloudy overcast days and perhaps it will pick up soon.
Makes me wonder about the full moon, does it affect the bite?
Ran into a friend of Bill's, Steve Scrimsher at the dock. He is a very good guide and we put him in the boat with us. We had a great time, the weather was beautiful, the only thing missing were the fish.
We picked the best part of the tide, encouraging numbers of fish rolling but the fish checkers had not seen a fish all day, or maybe one, I forget. We heard some illegal silvers were boated at the jaws. Remember, as of Aug 16th, tomorrow, you may keep silvers upstream from the state park boatramp to the confluence of the North Fork Nehalem.
We fished with herring right off the bottom.

Clancy Holts boat had one fish all day.

But I had a great time.... I needed that!
