Netarts Crabbing
Crabbed Netarts the 10th, 11th, and the 12th near the mouth with 6 limits each day. About 25% are soft yet. Anybody cross the bar at Netarts and do any fishing by the rocks? Surf was smooth enough to cross on any of the above mentioned dates!! Hows the crabbing at bouy 20-22 right now I'm fixing to go to B-10 Fri, Sat, and Sun. Want to drop off the pots while I fish.

Re: Netarts Crabbing
Hey Sandy,
I would like to try out some of that Netarts crabbing, but have never been down there. Can you give me a little scoop on the area?
Thanks
Pete

Re: Netarts Crabbing
From Boat Ramp go "around corner" toward ocean. There is a channel next to north side of the mouth. Drop your pots, rings in about 12'-15'. Do this on incoming tide, In case you have motor trouble. If you don't feel comfortable crabbing next to surf, from boat ramp go up toward marina, drop your gear in 10'-18'.
Happy crabbing

Re: Netarts Crabbing
Hey Sandy,
Isn't there more than one boat ramp?
Which one are you refering to and how much does it cost to launch?
Any bottom fish around there?
How about surf perch?
Thanks and tight lines (full pots)

Re: Netarts Crabbing
Only one public boat ramp to my knowledge. Their is a small ramp which is owned by a rental place up the bay 1/2 mile, which requires going thru a tunnel under the road, which is very small.
One of the last free boat ramps in the state.
Never fished it, but has probably the best clammin in the state, Which is closed now due to parasitic levels.

Re: Netarts Crabbing
Speaking of crabbing. What's your guys favorite bait these days and where do you get it? That's, of couse, after you've used up the dozens of frozen salmon carcasses from all the big ones you've been catching every weekend!!

Re: Netarts Crabbing
Crab love Shad. got 19 hardshells in 3 pulls last weekend on Shad. The back side of sand island by B-10 was the ticket for me. There are still a few softies and a LOT that are right at or under the limit. let them go it's not worth the ticket.
