Default Megler bridge

Some general info. for those interested. Fished Washington side above and below the Astoria ( Megler) bridge. Used chartruese body spinner, and whole herring. 1 hour prior to high and .5 hour after high we caught silvers in 15-20 feet of water. Water very warm, slowing the bite I think. Water cools about 5 degrees as tide comes in. Free ramp at Hammond on Oregon side.

Sledder,

I'm a little confused with your last sentence, "A free ramp at Hammond on the Oregon side"? I've fished there several times this year and the cost is still $5.00 for daily launch. Did something change in the last 3 weeks? Could you explain.

thanks, hook

Bathtub, Not sure about location of church area. I do think that upriver right above or below Astoria bridge has just as much fish catching potential as bouy-10 without the traffic jam.
Hookset, I really don't know how many ramps are in Hammond. The one we put in at was up stream of cannery. It is a double laner with a road loop up above the ramp. There is a small bait shop/covenience store. No one approached us looking for a ramp fee, Did I get lucky?

Hey Sledder, that's ok. Your learning!! Now you know the Warrenton ramp. The ramp at Hammond will cost you a fiver to launch. It's further downstream and down the road about 4 miles to Hammond. Nice ramp except at very low minus tides, it's also closer to Buoy 10.

Thanks for the report!
