Re: My new doghouse
Congrats on the new boat. Its beautiful! You plan on mooring it this year? If so, which port?
Are you related to Tom McClellan? Just curious. He works for the same company I do. In fact, he holds the same position but in a different office. He mentioned that someone he is related to was buying a Sea Master and lives in McMinnville. Must be you.

Re: My new doghouse
Watch out bug eyes and butts doghouse will get u. i am going to try my super secret bait size 9 white tennis shoe soaked for days in some really smelly stuff. He got a 90+ last year, If I catch one on that tennis shoe it will have to be bigger then a 100lbs. that boats has plenty of deck space and lots of storage for tuna. Looking forward to go fishing with doghouse. He is a very good captain and we always have a ball. See u salty dogs out at the ranch or the tuna grounds.

Re: My new doghouse
Hey that looks like doghouse on a monday morning sometimes. His release is going hunting and fishing amd taking friends and family to share in an great experience. He has to wait for red tape before he can go. Has to get everything ready to go. Besides may weather can be a real tester. Well the el nino is over and the el nina is here. Been threw a few of these. the la nina brings more northwest winds and up welling of food from the oceans bottom. Then the bait fish come then the salmon. I have seen the ocean red from krill. U could take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it just dipping it in the ocean. Ok i feel like telling one of many fish stories. I worked with a friend on a 40 foot double ender. We always held our own. Cape blanco to northern california was closed to fishing for a few years. In around 1980, well we got a 3 day season. So we made our way to blanco took about 30 hours rougher then u know what. There is nothing like going up moutains of swells so huge its like a roller coaster ride. Making sure u are on course reading the charts and then danger will roberson what that on the radar. Hey what are u why are u heading toward me. I try changing course, but it changes course. Tring to figure out what the hell it is. Thank whoever it went away. Watch is over time to get 40 winks. Get up its 5 oclock we are at cape blanco the start of more salmon then u could ever imagine. Drop our line in start trolling south to brookings. We start catching coho on top and kings all the way too bottom.
It was steady action fast as as u could pull fish. Took the inside passage of the reef. Still just kicking but. Then all of a sudden i look up a see this huge ball of rope. Well i tried to save my deep line but it busted off almost lost my hand. Took our port side floats also. Ok retie the gear go again. 0h buy the way it was a high school buddy who sank his black cod boat there. Bad cod are caught at great depths. So there was a lot of rope under water, anyways we are back in action. About 4 miles north of brookings, we hit the mother all fishing. Dont have time to run any float lines. The deeps are loaded as soon as u get them down u have fish on every hook. Dont matter is they are bare hooks the fish are on a feeding frenzy. They kept coming even after dark with on,no sleep those nights. I coho would be on top every line down fish would get bigger.
One pull i got a fish on every line and at the bottom spread a nice 30+ u know a bengi 100 dollar fish. And then my line kept jerking how can that be so fish has eatting my 60 lb cannon ball. No it was another 30lb king that broke off and swam bye my 7 strand cable an got hooked up. Ya hoo another bengi. It went like that for 2 days and untill 4 oclock on the third day wind starter blowing and the fish quit like somebody thru alight switch off. They were done. 16000 worth of fish in 3 days. That was the results of a few years of letting the salmon alone. I just pray that i can take my grandsons and take them fishing for salmon instead of telling them stories of times past. And the only salmon they know is farmed salmon out of the stores. I am willing to catch less and do anything that need to be done to get the salmon back when i got to see schools miles long miles wide there was so many what have we done. we all need to figure this out before it is to late. When i was a kid 10 years old lived 5 miles from seaside oregon. kochi creek park nice fishing hole the biggest sika spruce tree is there. 1963 had a creek next to house fall time salmon ran lots of them u could walk up the creek and see 20 salmnon going thru water 3 inchs deep. it was great. in summer time i would see steelheads up in side creeks having their young.
Every stream every creek had all kinds of fish heck u have to be carefull not to eat any that live ther year round. All the fish in the ocean now have mercury posioning, the bigger the fish the more mercury. I used to play with that stuff in school. They didnt know about all these things they know now well heck i should dead time ago, but i guess i might just have some more things to do here. Well my fingers are tried another story another night thanks salty dog see out in the blue water.

Nice ride. I'm sure you'll really enjoy the boat. Owned a SeaSport for 12 years, same size but it was Pilot. I must say the new version looks better than even the one they were making a few years ago.
