Default Custom rod info needed

I am thinking of treating myself to a new casting rod and have noticed the sign just this side of Mills Bridge advertising custom rods. Does anyone know anything about this rod builder and could they give me any info.
I used to make my own rods years ago but no longer have the eyesight for it. I built a nice Lamiglas in 1980, and the first trip out with it I caught a steelhead so that made it evenmore special. I really outdid myself on this rod and decided it should be handed down to my oldest son. So in a weak moment I gave it along with my Shimano 200 Bantam with wood knobs to him. He lives across the street from the Alsea river and told him to pass it on to his son.
Neither myself or my brother ended up with much of my dads things after his death and I decided not to let that happen with me. Now I'm afraid to go out fishing with this boy because he covets my old Ambassadeurs. I could just imagine him saying "Gee mom I told dad to be careful wading but I did manage to save his rod and reel"

Hewllo: I ordered a IMX Loomis from a guy who advertises on THAT other board and was very happy with the price and the service he gave me.The rod turned out great.I don't know how to make the address so all you have to do is click on it,but he has several rods for sale right now or he will make you one.I've never met the guy but I like his work, heres his address.
thcustomrods@harborside.com
If you want you can go to THAT other board and look in the items for sale he's in there now selling some extra rods.I need to learn how to highlight those address's so all a guy has to do is click on it.
Good Fishing

Hey Daw, I think you just have to put an http://www. in front of a website address. You listed an e'mail address and i'm not sure how to do that.

BigStew if you dont mind driving down the I-5 corridor you should check out Glen Wick's custom rods in creswell trust me it is well worth the drive just to see the barn full of fishing rods he has.I just went over there last month and bought a gorgeous 10 weight fly rod from him the great thing about it is I know I got the perfect rod for my upcoming adventure to Alaska.I was able to try out several rods in his yard casting the same weighted bugs I'll be taking up there.Glen probably has any where between 2 and 3 hundred rods made up at any time. The Quality is unsurpassed and the prices are very competitive. The selection is also great he's got everything from pan fish to predator give him a call for directions.(541 895-2788) SEE YA RJ

Hey Bigstew,

I really don't have the info on the shop by Mills, but, I do know Ron Byrd at Nestucca Valley Sporting Goods in Hebo (phone (503)392-4269) does a fine job of custom rod building for a reasonable price. With your choice of blanks, guides, handles, color of thread.
