Willamette/Columbia Largemouth

I fish the lower Willy and the Columbia a lot and do well on the smallies. However, I've never caught a largemouth there. Anybody able to tell me where you've found them in the past? Thx. jb

The Harbor on the lower Willy has LM. Try in the back of the commercial docking areas. The lower you go on the Columbia, the higher your LM ratio becomes IMO.

I fish the stretch of the Willy from Buena Vista to Wheatland ferry, S and N of Salem. There are lots of largemouth here also. I find that around the current breaks at slough mouths (my favorite spots), I catch more smallmouth in the spring and more largemouth in the fall, with a mixed bag during the summer months...
If you want to target largemouths early in the year, go back deeper into the backwater areas.

Go explore around Minto/Brown island. My brother-in-law used to hammer 'em down in the sloughs in that area.
