Here Kitty, Kitty.
I left Bend at 4:AM, headed to Burns for a emergency repair, the highway was covered in ice, from the snow they got Friday night, was there than too, anyway I was driving about 40 to 45, no one out on the road, about 200 yards in front of me, I see a movement, some thing crossing the road, I tried to get my rifle out of the case, and drive at the same,( or slide) time, I got with in 100 yards, and this thing now is crossed to the north side of the road, I wish I had my movie camera, this Cat was huge, from pictures I have see, it had to be about 125 to 150 pound range, I hit the brakes,( No No) on ice, come to a stop, fumble with gun case, this Cat was on the run, and I for one can say they can make tracks, I talked to a farmer in Hampton, he said they too have seen a big cat working the caves, and deer, elk, He said we wish you could of put a end to his doings, if I could of got the rifle out of the case, and loaded, that cat was easy 400 to 600 yards out, "Boy what a thrill to see.

Hey Norski, I was thinking about heading out for a little kitty talk later this week. can you give me a bearing on where you were? I have the perfect place for a full body mount.

600 is not a poke for the right gun... It would have been a done deal. Ultra mag all the way home.

Head east on 20, look for the pivots on the north side of HWY just past Brothers, and stop in at Hampton and ask the owners, the young gentleman that runs the cafe-a can give you some help on where, hope this helps yea, Good Luck.

Re: Here Kitty, Kitty.
The burg of Brothers just sold, 2 sisters have the place, you could ask around there also, the hwy workers may give yea a lead, yea snow out there turns into ice real quick, have a good hunt, I think that cat hangs out up by the tree line, and comes down for a snack or too, but it's the first time I have seen one out there, it was around 7:30 ish, it was day light, but not much, over cast, and light snow.
Good Luck.

Re: Here Kitty, Kitty.
The Elk have been around for some time in the area, the guy from Hampton said some where around 600 head, and the antelope are in the area, and the deer, so there is a good food scores for the cat.
