Re: Earthquake 9:38 AM this morning
At 44 Km at that location, it seems to be a subduction slip.
iirc, that is the depth of the Jaun de Fuca plate in that area.
Digging up more info.

Re: Earthquake 9:38 AM this morning
Although the this map does not extend through Oregon, You can follow the 35 to 40 Km line.
These numbers represent the the number of kilometers below the North American plate the Jaun de Fuca plate has suducted as it pushes ENE.
CLICK HERE for the USGS page.

I felt a slight one-time jolt while sitting in my recliner watching the end of "North to Alaska" fishing show...wondered what it was.

Re: Earthquake 9:38 AM this morning
It was a blue earthquake. How do they know what color they are?

Re: Earthquake 9:38 AM this morning
It's like a mood ring, Jen...the green ones are happy, red ones (usually much more severe) are very angry and the blues are a little sad...this one was just a little sad is all...(the green ones tend to jiggle and giggle)...

Re: Earthquake 9:38 AM this morning
In a couple days its mood will change to a yellow.
That's great.
