Default Fishing Lower Deschutes

I would like to know if anyone knows any places to bank fish on the lower Deschutes other than Heritage park? Places that could be accessed from the bank say on the Lower 10 miles of the Deschutes? These have to be places that you can drive to and park your vechicle somewhere with a reasonable hike to bank fishing access.

I understand there is a spot called Kloan, you take the HWY 197 exit off I84, but you don't actually get on HWY 197. It is not too far from there, but I understand that the final part of the road going into the canyon is a son-of-a-*****. Email me if you want directions.

There is only one spot on the lower river accessably by vehicle and that is freebridge .. you have to go threw The Dalles to get to it ..Or i should say only public road ... you can ride a bike up the access road on the east side of the river from the mouth ...

Kloan and Freebridge are one in the same. It is a section of river that has slots carved out from bedrock, which the steelies will lie in. My buddies have had eight fish days at this spot. I was not as fortunate. The time I went I had one pull, but the fish didn't come back. Getting there is a b*tch. You should have four-wheel drive, and plan on crawling in low. (it is a boulder strewn trail down to the river)
