tiller to cosole steering

I have a 2005 90/65 honda tiller steer that i want to change to a side console. The boat is 17ft alumaweld can any one give me advise on this???? good plan bad plan !!!!! thanks Jake

Why change and loose fishing room in your boat? Steering is much more positive with a tiller

This can be done, but will take a bit of work. You will need to run steering and throttle cables and you will need to run the wires for the key start and also cables for any gauges that you want on the console. It will also cost a bit of cash to do this, but you should check with your marine supply store and check the prices. Good luck, and show us some pictures of you do the switch.

My need to change is to much wieght in the back of the boat and tiller is not wife friendly .The plan is to build a small side console low profile so as not to lose the open space . Does any one have a old side console or know were I might pick one up at a good price . Thanks the fool

There is one on craigslist right now for $85.00, includes the CC and the wheel/ cables. Look in the boat section under "aluminum Center console."
