Hey guys, is it still decent in the S. & N. Forks of the Santiams for summers? Anyone know about the Clackams? Thanks. - RT

The Clackamas is super low and clear, a few summer steelhead are available, o'dark thirty until the sun hits the water, most/all of the salmon are dark to very dark. suspect that the go to bait is shrimp. Smolts are the big problem...have given up...and I live on the river...heading for B-14 not as crouded as B-10...

Haven't fished the santiam in awhile. As far as I know they stopped recycling fish about a month ago so I can't imagine it being real hot. They usually get the trap going again sometime in august so they should start recycling again soon... Joe

Brother in Law fished S Santiam last week. Drifted from just below Foster Dam (Wiley Creek I believe it is called)down thru Sweet Home. They hooked 3 landing 1 just below the mass of fisherman who are fishing the boundry at the hatchery. He told me all the action is near the boundry at the dam.

I fish the S. Santiam 3 to 4 times a week in the evenings and the fishing has slowed down a lot. I fish mainly the church camp but the deadline and Wiley Creek holes report the same thing.
