Default Astoria Question

Hello,

I haven't been fishing in the last 5 weekends. I'm a swim coach and I've had swim meets going on. Next weekend I'll be working in Astoria. The meet will be done very early each afternoon. I would love to make a straight line to somewhere to drown a hook. If there were fish in the water it would be a huge bonus.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Feel free to pm me or post. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Tom, There are surf perch and flounder to fish for and maybe a Salmon off the jetty.
I'd like to make it over there for some crabbing and just to run the boat a little but I have too much to do to get it ready for the next couple weeks, maybe more.
Good luck, maybe a local will chine in here and help out.
Take a look at the tide tables. You might be able to go razor clamming.

Fished the South Jetty Sunday for lings and bass. Pretty slow and lots of river current, even on the top of the flood
Not really worth the effort. 3 small lings and a black bass.

Threw out the crab pots in 50' of water, 3 river pots(no weight) walked out and thankfully got caught on a rock almost to buoy 6. Pots were full of starfish.
One ocean pot with 30lbs of lead stayed and caught mostly small females. Nothing more to report. Did throw the pots for 30minutes around the Desdimona light on the way in, no
legals. Good Luck, river water is still to cold for much fishing action, sturgeon or salmon.

Certainly no disrespect for pots. It's just that I'll be banking it. I could try throwing pots out from the beach. I'd certainly get alot of exercise or maybe I'd just get lock'd up.
